Our organization is made up of volunteers. No one draws a salary. Without our volunteers we would not be able to function, and animals would not be helped. There are many different volunteer opportunities, both short- and long-term, with different degrees of involvement. If you are new to Boquete, volunteering is a great way to learn about the culture and meet new people!
Some roles are specific, such as:
Helping with an event, either a regular or special event.
Transporting animals to the vet or sterilization clinics in Boquete or David.
Transporting animals to adoption events at Charlie’s Pet Fashion in Boquete (and to Novey in David, when MINSA permits resumption of events).
Visiting foster homes and supplying food, support, and advice.
Being part of a rescue team when SALDEA recovers an animal on an emergency basis.
Collecting donated food and cash from designated drop off locations.
Visiting local schools to talk about animal care.
Making Price Smart runs to purchase pet food and cat litter.
Some roles are long-term, such as:
Being part of the fundraising committee, and helping to put on fundraising events.
Fostering dogs and cats (our GREATEST need).
Assisting with the Feral Cat Program by delivering food to colonies, and assisting with trapping cats for sterilization.
Grant writing, marketing, and public relations.
Finance, compliance, accounting, and legal support
